All fingers are not equal
That’s what Abdul tells himself every night,
He didn’t join the Nigerian Force to fight another Man’s cause
but,
all fingers are not equal.
Staring out the top floor of his brand new three storey dream home,
he realized,
The moon reminds him of Ada’s eyes,
‘Jewel of the Sky’ his mother called it.
This jewel witnessed the muffled sounds of the innocent Chike as he hung on the gallows built for the Commandant’s son.
Maybe he’ll get lucky tonight and sleep without dreaming.
